AB + Weekly Roundup

Good News

Aberdeen positives own Frank Doran MP has been awarded the Jane Attenborough Dance UK industry award. We are delighted to hear that Frank has been recognised for his hard work within the arts.

The annual award highlights the many important but often unacknowledged contributors that make the real difference to how dance is created and seen. It honours the individual working behind the scenes who has made an outstanding contribution to the art form.

Frank has worked tirelessly since 2004 to champion dance as an art form and also for the positive benefit it brings to the health, education and society. He was the main force behind the creation of the All Party Parliamentary Dance Group becoming its founding secretary helping to raise the profile of dance at Westminster.

What to watch this weekend-

Beyond the Haar- Free to watch online now!

Following Beyond The Haar’s successful run at the Belmont Filmhouse last year and screenings at several festivals in the UK and Europe, the film will now be available to watch and download for free!

To watch the film online go to the official website:

It is a fantastic film and the first feature by Aberdeen based artist and filmmaker (and AB + member) Mark Bremner and mixes new and archived footage to tell the unique and sometimes quirky hidden story of a city often misaligned in the publics perception.

Surely a must watch for all AB+ members!
